Team's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 13, 2025

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

We are Team Crusading 4 Cures, and we are passionate about raising money for blood cancer research. This year, we are proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. To do so, we need your help!

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit our website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Additionally, please consider attending our fundraising events! These events not only are a great and fun way to spend the day but also are a way to contribute to funding ground-breaking blood cancer research! The details are below:

  • Ice Skating Event: February 15th at WinterFest Ice Skating Rink At Cooper River Park from 3:00PM-6:00PM

  • Suma’s Kitchen Fundraiser: March 7th at 6:00PM

We're doing this in honor of Izzie, who is currently battling cancer from right here in New Jersey. On Super bowl Sunday 2023, Izzie’s symptoms began. After initial blood work at her pediatrician, they were rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. On February 16, 2023, at age 4, she was officially diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After initially responding well to treatment, Izzie developed infections in her knee and back, that required her to be re-hospitalized. After those cleared, they remained in quarantine at home for 3 months. Today, Izzie is currently in maintenance treatment and goes to the doctor monthly while taking oral chemotherapy at home. She started Kindergarten this fall. She is a ‘Swifty’ with a big personality, who also loves arts and crafts, We, as a team, are motivated by Izzie’s journey and we’re going to work hard in her honor!

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Thanks to your support, our efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
